*NEW DATE: FEBRUARY 21-22, 2026*

Yin and Yang of Nutrition is a brand new, integrative course with Dr. Setareh Moafi happening live — in person and online — Saturday & Sunday, February 21-22, 2026 10am to 4pm PT both days.

Can’t make it live? You’ll have one week access to the recordings so you can study at your own pace.

If you find yourself:

  • Overwhelmed with what to eat

  • Unable to properly digest or eliminate your meals and snacks

  • Unmotivated to cook for yourself

  • Struggling to manage your weight

  • DONE with food trends and diets

You are not alone.

With so much information on food and diet — and constantly changing trends — it’s easy to get swept up in the whirlwind of advice on what you should and shouldn’t eat, only to be left confused and disempowered about how to reach your goals.

But the issue isn't you. It’s the myth that there’s a “one-size-fits-all” approach to nutrition.

Your diet must be personalized for your digestion to be optimized

Whether you’re aiming to improve your sleep, nourish your brain, support longevity, or manage your weight, what you eat matters.

The Yin & Yang of Nutrition offers simple, tangible wisdom

Through Daoist food energetics and movement practices, you’ll learn how to nourish yourself with food — without feeling deprived or overwhelmed.

Why this course?

The Yin & Yang of Nutrition course will give you a grounded understanding of Daoist food energetics through a Classical Chinese Five Element perspective.

By exploring food’s nutritional and energetic qualities, you’ll learn how to heal your gut — and in turn support better sleep, steadier energy, clearer thinking, healthier skin, and stronger brain function.

Over our two days together, you’ll learn:

  • The principles of Five Element energetics: how the colors, tastes, shapes and composition of different foods — including grains, proteins, legumes, fruits and vegetables — affect you physically, mentally and emotionally

  • The science behind the gut-brain axis and how to best support your gut health

  • How to heal yourself with food and know what to eat (and avoid) — and when

  • Best practices to optimize your ability to digest carbohydrates, proteins and fats

  • How cooking methods affect the energetics of food and your health

  • Simple food tips and recipes to help you nourish yourself every day

Plus, we’ll practice tailored Yoga Integration practices to regulate and support healthy digestion.

The Yin & Yang of Nutrition can transform your relationship with food and help you feel better — and more like your true self — day by day.

What you’ll gain from this one-of-kind experience is truly priceless.

“The Bay Area offers a lot of paths to wellness, but I think Dr. Moafi’s may be the best.”

My Journey to the Yin & Yang of Nutrition

Having struggled with digestive issues for most of my life, I’d tried nearly every trend and followed some of the most advanced science in food and nutrition.

Though I could always intuitively tell whether something was ‘right’ or ‘wrong’ for my body, I continued to struggle with my gut health — until I discovered the life-changing insights of Classical Chinese Dietetics from my teacher and 88th generation Daoist Master, Dr. Jeffrey Yuen.

During my recovery from surgery after a serious illness in 2024, I applied this unique approach like never before (full story here).

Self-healing with food became one of the most empowering tools during the most challenging time of my life.

Now more than ever, I feel moved to help you clearly understand these principles to improve your quality of life.

My lifelong passion for food, combined with nearly 20 years of study with Dr. Yuen — including a PhD in Classical Chinese Medicine — has given me a comprehensive understanding of food energetics.

This foundation helps me support my own gut health and guide my patients, clients — and you — to do the same.

Interweaving Daoist food energetics with my Persian heritage — where food was always a source of love and healing — has shaped the unique and soulful approach to wellness that I look forward to sharing with you.
