Yin Yoga Integration for Flexibility
Did you know that stress can impact your flexibility?
During infancy, the back of your neck and your lower spine are activated as you lift your head to look out into the world, then raise your chest and begin to crawl.
Once you engage the muscles in your buttocks and move your hips and pelvis, you're able to stand up and walk.
This is when the Bladder Sinew Meridian is activated to support you to walk, which spreads through your buttocks, your hips and your back first begins its function to support you to walk forward in the world.
Over time, stress can stagnate this meridian and both over-activate your nervous system and inhibit your flexibility, especially if you're always doing (or think about doing) too much.
By relaxing your Bladder Sinew Meridian, you can thus reduce stress and improve your flexibility.

This Yin Yoga practice offers a brief introduction to Chinese medical philosophy as well as a few Yin yoga postures that target and release the Bladder Meridian to help you calm your body and mind.
And remember, you don’t need to be flexible or even have practiced Yoga before.
All you need is a little space to sit and an open heart to receive the insights to support you.
